Every developer has decoded a production token in a random browser tab and felt slightly ill about it. Toolbelt is those tools, native, keyboard driven and offline.
Features
What it does
One app, one price. Everything below is included, with nothing held back for a higher tier.
Formatters and validators
JSON, YAML, XML, SQL and HTML. Format, minify, validate, and diff two documents side by side.
Encoders and decoders
Base64, URL, HTML entities, JWT and query strings. Paste in either direction and the direction is detected for you.
Generators
UUID, ULID, Nano ID, Lorem, and cryptographically strong passwords, in bulk.
Time and cron
Unix timestamps across timezones, and cron expressions explained in plain English with the next ten runs.
Regex workbench
Live matching with capture-group highlighting, a reference cheatsheet, and export to JavaScript, Python, Go or PHP.
Hashing and signatures
MD5, SHA family, bcrypt and HMAC, plus JWT signature verification against a secret that stays on your machine.
Data conversion
JSON to CSV, YAML, TOML, Go structs, TypeScript interfaces or SQL inserts, a whole batch at a time.
Built for the keyboard
Open it with a global shortcut, jump between tools without the mouse, and paste straight from the clipboard.

The web versions run entirely in your browser tab. They are how you judge this app before it exists, since the Mac App Store has no trial for paid apps.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
When can I buy it?
It is still in development. It will be listed on the Mac App Store, and the launch gets announced on X first. There is no date yet, because putting one out before the app is finished would just be a promise with nothing behind it.
Can I try it before buying?
In a sense, yes. Several of the tools have free web versions on this site, so you can see exactly how they behave before spending anything. The Mac App Store offers no trial for paid apps, so that is the honest substitute.
Does anything I paste get uploaded?
No. Every tool runs locally. The app needs no account and makes no network request to do its work.
Is it a subscription?
No. It is a one-time purchase and every update to this major version is included. A future major version would be a separate purchase.
How do payment and refunds work?
Through Apple. The Mac App Store handles the payment, the receipt, the tax for your country, and refunds under Apple standard policy, so there is no licence key to lose.
Can I use it on more than one Mac?
Yes. A Mac App Store purchase is tied to your Apple Account, so it installs on the Macs you use with that account.
